A sign hangs overhead in a temporary shelter in a new camp for the internally displaced ethnic Kachin villagers in Burma.  Without their homes and everything in them, they live in small spaces and share everything as a community. Children still play, adults still joke and you can almost forget that they live this way because they fled in fear of their own country’s army.  Homeless but full of strength and courage. The sign hanging reads Joshua 1:9 from the bible in Kachin language:

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
